Tiraspol, 9 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During today's session the Supreme Council considered a draft law «On amendments to the Customs Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic» providing for the cancellation of export contracts registration.
The document is designed to enhance the situation for exporters regardless of their departmental subordination, business and property forms.
According to bill authors, the current version of the code complicates the maintenance of foreign trade relations.
«Without this contract you cannot effectuate customs clearance and make payments to contractors. This norm does not promote the development of business," said the head of the entrepreneurship and industry committee, Viktor Guzun, adding that this norm does not exist in Ukraine, Moldova and Customs Union countries.
According to customs officials, however, the contract registration procedure has recently simplified and today takes only four instead of 48 hours. Besides, contracts are registered at local customs offices, not at the State Customs Committee headquarters.
Passing this bill will increase the time of customs clearance and complicate the procedure, customs spokespersons underscore.
«These contracts are the basis for effectuating customs clearance, as well as an important instrument of currency control," said the deputy chair of the SCC, Boris Panko.
The draft law has received a whole series of negative assessments. The majority has nonetheless approved the draft law and passed it on first reading.
