Tiraspol, 2 March. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie needs more effective mechanisms to consider the recommendations of the Public Chamber. This was declared at the meeting between its representatives and the President Yevgeny Shevchuk. As the speaker of the Republican Public Chamber Sergey Smirichinsky noted, sometimes reaction of various government institutions to the decisions made by that body is far from perfect.
«The provision on Public Chamber is legislated, but in practice when our claims, applications and recommendations are considered, they can either invite us or not. Experience has proven that even if our applications are taken care of, practically we receive non-committal replies. When we submit our offers to the authorities, we cannot even participate in discussion of the issues. There is no interaction», — he told.
In order to change the situation for the better it is offered to establish an advisory public board attached to the executive authorities, that is ministries and departments and also city halls and regional state administrations. Russia has such experience already, and as practice shows, these platforms are very effective for interaction between state authorities and social activists.
The head of state noted that ammendments to the Presidential Decree about Public Chamber of the PMR can be the first step in this direction.
«As for the law, I agree that it should be based on the Russian legislation, I know that such project has already been prepared. We will check it out, and if it serves your turn, we will submit it for consideration. But let's start with the Decree in order that we could do it quicker and the mechanism was tried and tested. I advocate the members of the Public Сhamber to be engaged in the boards attached to the ministries, and more than that, as I see it, we need a feedback mechanism for adopted decisions for the sake of revealing the information to public and for the sake of public control of the decisions made at the level of corresponding ministries and departments," Yevgeny Shevchuk told.
