Vitaly Ignatiev meets with Head of the British Embassy to Moldova Philip Batson

They discussed the problematic issues in Pridnestrovie's and Moldova’s bilateral dialogue, the aspects of current socio-economic situation of Pridnestrovie, as well as the projects implemented by the British Embassy

Tiraspol, December 2. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PMR the meeting of the head of department Vitaly Ignatyev with the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Republic of Moldova Philipp David Batson took place.

The Press Service of the Foreign Ministry reports that the problematic issues in Pridnestrovie's and Moldova’s bilateral dialogue, the aspects of current socio-economic situation of Pridnestrovie, as well as the projects implemented by the British Embassy were discussed during the meeting.

According to Vitaly Ignatyev, contacts between the Pridnestrovian and British sides are focused on an extensive discussion of a number of topical issues. «These issues need permanent momentum to implement them, so we will try to keep the rhythmic dynamics of work in the framework of the social, humanitarian and expert projects, which we are implementing together,” the diplomat said.

During the meeting, Vitaly Ignatiev told the British Ambassador about the obstacles put by the Republic of Moldova against the foreign guests who had planned to take part in international scientific-practical conference «The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic and the Republic of Serbia: protection of sovereignty in the face of international turbulence”, as well as against the last Sunday elections to the PMR Supreme and Local councils of all levels being among international observers.

The Head of the Foreign Ministry expressed regret that the Moldovan side prevents with such «barbaric” actions the foreign scientists, experts and politicians from visiting Pridnestrovie, seeking to limit international contacts of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.

«The actions of Moldovan authorities have nothing to do with the principles of democracy, freedom and transparency, and certainly they don't provide an atmosphere of confidence in the political communication between Pridnestrovie and Moldova,” Vitaly Ignatiev noted.
