As Novosti Pridnestrovya reported earlier, Pridnestrovie's President Yevgeny Shevchuk convened an emergency meeting of the Government where urgent anti-crisis measures had been discussed. The Head of state emphasized that the Government's and the President's legislative initiatives aimed to stabilize economic and social situation were submitted to the Supreme Council many times.
«It bears reminding that anti-crisis bills is a whole group of economic bills including the social initiatives aimed at getting additional funds for repayment of salary and pension debt," Yevgeny Shevchuk told
According to the Head of state, all efforts of executive power, directed to improve legal framework in order to receive additional income for insurance of vulnerable social groups, were blocked.
«Our efforts in adoption of legal acts aiming to protect citizens are blocked due to various reasons for today. Citizens are left alone with their problems," the President declared.
In the period between 2012 and September 28, 2015, the Head of state submitted 201 high priority legislative initiatives (requiring top priority consideration) to the Supreme Council. About one tenth of them are still under consideration. Beyond that, the terms of decision-making by the parliament established by the Constitution were roughly disregarded in all cases. It's important to note that some initiatives must be considered in 2−3 weeks according to the Constitution, but they are considered more than a year.
«Today, we can confirm that the process of creation of an economic defence mechanism for the state aimed to prevent financial losses is slowed down. The actions, aimed to brake the constitutional terms of consideration of legislative initiatives allowing to solve the most important problems of the state, can be regarded, at least, as a consideration procedure delaying, as maximum — an intended act," Yevgeny Shevchuk emphasized.
«From the first days, election campaign showed in whose behalf some so-called national representatives worked. Instead of offering solutions to problems, trying to raise funds for pensions and salaries, overcoming the economic crisis and resist to it using all state mechanisms together with the Government, certain representatives simply practise populism, take advantage of this difficult situation to get to the supreme legislative body again and just hype themselves and make publicity moves on difficulties and problems of people. Although it doesn't concern all deputies, there are also various political forces, and, unfortunately, this negativity obsessed some groups of MPs. It is necessary to remind them that they also assume responsibility for the situation in the country, but not just the President and the Government," the President noted and added that it was dangerous when struggling for a deputy seat one forgets the mission of a parliament as a body of power.
As Yevgeny Shevchuk noted, state authorities have a main role, i.e. «performance of the state functions to implement the interests of state and citizens, not any own and corporate interests or interests of sponsors of various parties».
«I won't allow deceiving Pridnestrovians! It's enough populism about different bills which haven't been adopted still! We can't delay the economic initiatives. It threatens the economic security of the state. Elections can wait — people can't," the Head of state summarized.
