During today's briefing the acting minister of foreign affairs, Vitaliy Ignatyev, was asked about his expectation of Germany's chairmanship of OSCE.
«We expect that Germany will show a balanced, rational, fair and unbiased position in the negotiation process, that it will provide a stimulus to the dialogue and apply necessary tools so that the negotiation process remains as such and does not turn into a platform where a dialogue is pursued, but outside which there is a large-scale blockade, pressure and restrictions towards a partner. This is inadmissible," said Vitaliy Ignatyev.
He also recalled: «Assuming the OSCE chairmanship, our partners argue that the process of the Pridnestrovian settlement will be their priority. We have already witnessed chairmanships of Ukraine, Ireland, Kazakhstan and other countries. Every state has its own view on the priority of this issue, but I think it is time to proceed from some participant observation and statement of facts to certain activities aimed at solving the most pressing issues. Moreover, our partners in the person of the OSCE have all the resources needed for that.»
