Reconstruction of several social facilities under president's control

Andrey Bezbabchenko has reported the president on the progress in the reconstruction of a number of healthcare and education facilities

The president held a meeting with the head of the Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk State Administration. Andrey Bezbabchenko reported the head of state on the progress in the reconstruction of a number of healthcare and education facilities. The need to contribute additional funds to some educational institutions was also put forward during the meeting.

The president, together with representatives of the dedicated ministry, visited the building of Tiraspol's former Polyclinic 3, which is to be commissioned soon. After the reconstruction, it will accommodate one of Pridnestrovie's high-technology medical centres, equipped with modern diagnostic equipment. Yevgeny Shevchuk examined medical, laboratory and treatment rooms, where medical equipment is being installed at the moment.

«Patients will be provided with highly qualified medical assistance by doctors and specialists in such fields of medicine as cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, stomatology, dermatology and so on. The quality of treatment will rise manyfold. The new medical equipment has been purchased at the expense of extra-budgetary sources and, in particular, the Pridnestrovian Humanitarian Fund," said the healthcare minister, Tatyana Skrypnik.

It is estimated that the reconstruction work and equipment procurement cost over $2 million.

Another large-scale project, personally initiated by the president, is the reconstruction of the former children's hospital, which is in 59 Sverdlov St. This medical facility is to become a district polyclinic for the residents of Tiraspol's centre. This building, erected in 1953, is now vacant and in emergency condition. According to the construction expertise, 85% of its roof needs replacing. The president gave an assignment to prepare information on the work to be done and estimate the costs of investments.

Later this day the president visited the Tiraspol Industrial and Economic Technical College, which is also in need of outside repairs. Earlier, the college director, Svetlana Fadeeva, had requested the republic's leadership to consider the possibility of finding funds for repairing the building. The president instructed specialists to estimate the costs of roof repair, replacement of windows and facade reconstruction. It is planned that extra-budgetary funds will be allocated for the repair works from the Pridnestrovian Humanitarian Fund.

According to the president's press office, Yevgeny Shevchuk noted the necessity of allocating funds for repair-and-renewal operations of Tiraspol's School 14. The president gave a number of the corresponding instructions.
