According to the MFA, on 3 September the delegations of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by the vice president, V.V. Gabnia, and the Republic of South Ossetia, led by the foreign minister, K.I. Tskhovrebov, who participated in the celebrations on the 25th anniversary of Pridnestrovie, were searched and interrogated in Kishinev Airport.
«Moldova has taken measures which created conditions extremely inconvenient for the movement of delegations and undermining good neighbourly, constructive and respectful interaction between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. In particular, the Abkhazan and Ossetian delegations were officially deported from Moldova and banned from entering this state for 10 years. The interrogation of the Abkhazian vice president, Gabnia, and president's adviser, V.K. Zantaria, lasted for over two hours and were accompanied by attempts to put psychological pressure and various threats. As a result, the Abkhazian delegation missed their flight and had to purchase tickets for the next one.
The foreign ministry of Pridnestrovie emphasises the fact that in the official correspondence, at the meetings of negotiators, as well as during personal communication between Nina Shtanski and Victor Osipov, Moldova provided assurances that it is ready to ensure the unhindered movement of all guests of Pridnestrovie in the period of celebrations. Moldova unilaterally recalled these assurances after the guests had already arrived because, according to the Moldovan authorities or Moldova's separate clans, the arrival of these international delegations in Pridnestrovie «undermined the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.»
Pridnestrovie's MFA considers these actions by Moldova, which trample upon the principles of adequate interaction, reduce a climate of confidence to a zero condition and confirm pathological inability of Moldova's present authorities to follow the commitments as rude and naked provocation which shows irresponsibility and irrationality of Moldova's position in the negotiations. Pridnestrovie's foreign ministry emphasises the unconditional danger of Moldova's actions for the prospects of cooperation in different formats and calls on all international partners concerned to assess illegitimate and self-deprecating actions of Moldova aimed at restricting Pridnestrovie's international contacts.
The MFA is confident that such artificial difficulties, showing immaturity and unconscionability of Moldova's approaches, consolidate the people of Pridnestrovie in its unwillingness to have anything in common with Kishinev inept politicians and strengthen the relations of sincere friendship, sympathy and moral support between the sister nations from the Community for Democracy and Peoples' Rights," says the statement of Pridnestrovie's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
