The representatives of sister nations have come to Pridnestrovie to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. Pridnestrovie was also represented at the meetings by the vice premier on international affairs, Pridnestrovie's foreign minister, Nina Shtanski, the president's press office reports.
In the course of a dialogue with the Abkhazian representatives Yevgeny Shevchuk expressed gratitude for their thoughts of Pridnstrovie. «We are very pleased to share this holiday with our distinguished friends from Abkhazia," said Yevgeny Shevchuk. «I ask you to express my appreciation to the president of Abkhazia.»
During the meeting attention was given to the socio-economic situation in Pridnestrovie and the difficulties the citizens are facing. Some issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, as well. It was emphasised that, despite the geographical position of the republics, their humanitarian and cultural ties are getting even stronger. Yevgeny Shevchuk underscored that «the republic is going to further enhance cooperation possibilities.» «Abkhazia has always supported Pridnestrovie in every way and showed its positive and kind attitude. We have already established some elements of cooperation and have certain plans," concluded the president. It was talked particularly about the development of cooperation in the banking sphere, sports, and the implementation of a rehabilitation social project.
Following the meeting, the parties shared impressions on the Republic Day events. The guests from Abkhazia expressed appreciation for the military parade. «I'd like to wish the Pridnestrovian people consolidation, and then everything will go right. It has already gone right! If the Pridnestrovian nation remains consolidated and united, there will be no threats to your statehood," said the vice president, Vitaliy Gabniya.
At the meeting with the South Ossetian delegation the president pointed out that he highly appreciates the cooperation between two republics. «We are always with you, we have common goals and tasks. The Republic of South Ossetia is a good friend and reliable partner of Pridnestrovie," said Yevgeny Shevchuk.
In his turn, the foreign minister of South Ossetia thanked the president for the reception on the Pridnestrovian land. Kazbulat Tskhovebov that, despite a difficult socio-economic situation, the republic is developing and going forward. «Difficulties make the Pridnestrovians even stronger. I wish you to look towards the future with optimism. I am sure the Pridnestrovian children will always smile and there will always be peaceful skies over their heads," underscored the South Ossetian foreign minister.
