Today the state budget is financing no more than 30% of public health needs.
At the meeting of the president and the health minister, special attention was given to the necessity of raising additional resources in the public health system, including through such form of cooperation between government and business as state-private partnership, the president's press office reports.
«We have serious difficulties with the functioning of the public health system. In order to retain what we have now and give additional chance for the development in some areas, the state-private partnership is perfect for planning and strategic work in prospect aimed at developing the public health system," noted the health minister.
One of the health care facilities where the state-private partnership is to be applied is the central polyclinic in 25th October St, Tiraspol. The polyclinic is under repair and reconstruction with inferior finishing being done at the moment at the expense of extra-budgetary funds. Tatyana Skrypnik informed the president that more than a half of medical equipment had already been brought to the republic.
«The polyclinic's staff list is being formed now. Taking into account that this medical institution is on the project list for state-private partnership, some of its functions will be revised," said the health minister. «The government will have the opportunity for providing new and high quality health care services, and the polyclinic's employees will have additional jobs and opportunities of self-realization.»
Tatyana Skrypnik also pointed out that there are state-private partnership elements in health care systems of all countries. In Russia such cooperation between government and business has been underway for a decade.
