Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation: Russia is concerned that blockade against Pridnestrovie continues

It is emphasized that these actions impede normal social and economic life of the republic

A meeting between the State Secretary/Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin and the acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Victor Osipov, who is on a working visit in the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow, took place on June 24.

As it is reported on the official website of the Russian foreign policy department, there was a comprehensive exchange of ideas on the Pridnestrovie's situation during the meeting.

In particular, the Russian side expressed deep concern due to the continuing blockade actions against the PMR, as this issue impedes normal social and economic life of the republic.

«Attention of the Moldovan party was drawn to the recent frequent facts of prevention, under a vain pretext, of scheduled rotation of the Russian military personnel serving in the Russian Task Force in Pridnestrovie and in the Russian contingent of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. The parties supported a common quest for a compromise on this problem," it is told in the message of foreign policy department.

In the conditions of increasing inflammatory rhetoric against Pridnestrovie, also basing on the background of the Ukraine events, Russia and Moldova emphasized that it was necessary to prevent any actions leading to the further escalation.

Russian side emphasized that the key role in dialogue normalization between two banks of the Dniester belongs to Kishinev and Tiraspol.

Grigory Karasin and Victor Osipov also discussed current condition of the Russia-Moldova relations in different fields.
