The works are performed manually at high elevation. Russia’s EMERCOM (Emergency Control Ministry) specialists are cutting off the net with angle bars and channels part by part and manually getting down the construction, the district administration web site reports.
One span of the cableway — from pier to pier — consists of 26 sections. Each section weighs approximately 600 kg. At a heat the rescuers are getting down 300 kg of metal, trying to avoid damaging the domestic houses, accessory buildings, trees and power lines.
«Each stage of dismantling is very important. We are about to finish it soon and carry out emergency works above the residential area," said Andrei Legoshin, deputy director of the Department of Fire and Rescue Forces.
According to him, the last section of the net will be removed tomorrow. After that, the rescuers will proceed to remove the ropes. When performing the works, the EMERCOM specialists will apply special methods and techniques to clear away the sky above Rybnitsa from the cableway.
Rybnitsa's rescuers are providing assistance to the Russian colleagues in their work.
