As the director of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies (RISS), the retired lieutenant general of the Foreign Intelligence Service Leonid Reshetnikov told to the Russian mass media, «the question concerning the protection of Pridnestrvoie should be raised in Russia at the local and federal levels, and also it should be directed to the Russian authorities».
«Pridnestrovie should be protected. People of the republic through fight and blood won their independence. We should take drastic steps. First and foremost, we must recognize the independence of Pridnestrovie; secondly, sign an agreement on cooperation and mutual help in case of attack against Pridnestrovie. There are no other options," the director of RISS emphasized.
According to him, Russia and the Russian government must take «urgent, drastic measures to bring headless Kishinev and Ukraine polititians to their senses». «Inadmissible things occur there: our peacekeeping contingent is in blockade, and it experiences many difficulties, our institute receives abuse — now, our RISS employee can't simply get to the territory of Pridnestrovie. Two of our members have already been declared persona non grata. Such actions are also continued against the Russian politicians and social activists. The list of those ones who arrived to Kishinev and who were sent back by the Kishinev authorities goes beyond several dozens of people," Leonid Reshetnikov emphasized.
