Verkhovna Rada denounced an agreement on Russian military transit to Pridnestrovie

That way, the deputies plan to protect homeland security and territorial inviolability of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada denounced the agreement of 1995 concerning the Russian military transit to Pridnestrovie through the Ukraine territory by a majority vote.

265 deputies of the Ukrainian parliament voted for denunciation of the intergovernmental agreement. Protection of the homeland security and territorial inviolability of Ukraine were given as the reasons," the UNIAN reports.

Transit is essential for supply of the Russian military personnel in Pridnestrovie. The document, dated back to November, 1995 in Sochi and signed by Victor Chernomyrdin and Yevgeny Marchuk, regulates railway transportation of the military personnel and freights from Russia through the territory of Ukraine. The rules for the transit military echelons movement and for the transportation of military hardware and ammunition are spelled out there. It is also noted in the document that payment for transit is arranged by the Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation.
