The authorities of Pridnestrovie's State Customs Committee (SCC) continue to pursue meetings with the economic agents and businessmen involved in foreign trade operations.
«This scheduled activity by the SCC has taken on special importance today under budget deficit. Promoting active foreign trade operations is a principal task of the customs authorities. This task is pursued, in particular, through the minimisation of the losses Pridnestrovie's business incurs in the context of the economic crisis in the neighbouring states and blocking of Pridnestrovie's foreign trade operations," said Svetlana Klimenkova, first deputy chairman of Pridnestrovie's SCC.
According to the customs statistics, the economic agents operating within the area of responsibility of the Tiraspol customs office account for 76% of Pridnestrovie's total foreign trade turnover. Given that in the first four months of 2015 the total amount of shortfalls in customs revenue made 130 million roubles, 100 million roubles falls on the area of responsibility of the Tiraspol customs office.
During the meeting an exchange of views was held on the procedure for the declaration of the goods transported via the customs border by individuals.
Given that the efficiency of customs control had been enhanced, the businessmen brought up the question on the degree of confidence to their activities on the part of the customs authorities. In this regard, it was decided to extend the «Bona fide foreign trade operators» institution to individual businessmen, the committee's press office reports.
Svetlana Klimenkova promised to review this matter, analyse the efficiency of such amendments and inform the businessmen on the final decision.
Today 37% of all individual businessmen in Pridnestrovie operate within the area of responsibility of the Tiraspol customs office.
«With regard to their opinion, SCC experts have been reforming for several months the previous system of declaring the goods imported by individuals for commercial purposes. This joint work will be continued by searching for the alternative solutions which observe the interests of both the businessmen and the state," the customs committee points out.
