As the head of the Cultural Heritage Department of the Culture State Service Marina Kashleva noted on air of Radio-1, nearly 40% of all monuments taken under the state protection in Pridnestrovie are devoted to the Second World War events and to the winner soldiers.
«Events of the Great Patriotic War scarred the history of our country; they had an impact not only in the destiny of the state, but of each family. So, it is no wonder that there are a lot of such monuments almost in any town of Pridnestrovie," Marina Kashleva told.
According to her, most of the monuments devoted to the Great Patriotic War are in Kamenka Region, i.e. 31 monuments. 27 monuments — in Rybnitsa Region, 23 — in Grigoriopol Region, 19 — in Slobodzeya Region, 7 — in Tiraspol Region, 3 monuments — in Bendery.
«All of them are included in the national register. But there is also a number of memorial signs and memorial constructions not included in the national register, but they are, certainly, important for the local communities. Surely, they are taken care of, they are renovated before the Great Victory Day," Marina Kashleva noted.
