The Deputy Prime Minister on the International Cooperation, the Foreign Affairs Minister Nina Shtanski told about the negotiation process between Moldova and Pridnestrovie on the air of Radio-1
«There are known political developments in Moldova: the government wasn’t set up, the negotiations representative wasn’t appointed. That’s why there is nobody to negotiate with," Nina Shtanski commented on the situation and added that Pridnestrovie doesn’t reject the dialogue and doesn’t leave the negotiations.
Nevertheless, according to her, the negotiations continue within the expert groups' work. The parties' representatives met in such format until December 30 of the last year.
«We work at the expert level, and the negotiations have no alternative. They can be of different efficiency, they can have different agendas, but any problematic issues should be resolved at the negotiating table. There are simply no other options," the diplomat stated.
The minister also emphasized that the efforts of power politics or unlawful force are inadmissible in the relations between the parties: «Negotiation is a dialogue, not a monologue. The negotiations can’t be conducted from the position of strength, and the negotiations can’t be conducted in the conditions of pressure. The negotiations presuppose respect for the each other’s interests. I hope that the coming changes in the Moldavian diplomacy open the door for the regular work.
