Evgeny Shevchuk: 2015 will be more challenging in terms of the economy

Pridnestrovie’s President told it during the live program of Radio-1

The President mentioned the Eurasian Economic Union Treaty signing as one of the most significant events of the last year.

“This event will have the profound consequences. It’s very important for our republic that we succeeded to sign a number of interinstitutional agreements between the Russian Federation and Pridnestrovie in 2014,” Evgeny Shevchuk emphasized.

He mentioned the economic instability of 2014 and the fluctuating exchange rate situation.

“2014 was more or less stable, nevertheless it was challenging for Pridnestrovie. We managed to finish this year on a strong track being in such difficult conditions,” the President emphasized.

Evgeny Shevchuk tried to predict the situation in 2015 and said that he shared the views and estimates of the economic experts who claimed 2015 to be economically challenging and difficult unfortunately.

“It is obvious that the economic war between the Russian Federation and a number of the Western countries has resulted in the difficulties for Russia. That’s why there is Russian national currency drop, oil price downturn and slowdown of the Russian economy. All this has an impact on the neighboring states’ economies because the Russian Federation market is considered to be global one for Moldava, Pridnestrovie and Ukraine,” the President told.

Evgeny Shevchuk considers that the downward dynamics in the economy of 2014 will continue in 2015, and probably in 2016.
