The sponsor of the meeting concerning this problem was the Community Council of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk
Among other things, the discussion concerned the draft bill on the protection against the domestic violence and abuse. The deputies of the Supreme Council were invited to the debate, Tiraspol Media Center reports.
According to the Pridnestrive’s legislative establishment, the necessity for this bill has arisen not only due to the social circumstances, such law would provide extensive measures for the family values protection, for the prevention and suppression of any domestic violence and abuse forms. Also, the draft bill establishes the special shelters and the medical-social rehabilitation center for the domestic violence victims in the territory of the republic. This will require considerable funds.
Everybody who attended the meeting could express his pro or contra. Most of the Community Council members consider that the bill on the protection against the domestic violence and abuse will impose some elements of juvenile judiciary in Pridnestrovie like in the western countries. It represents the special mechanism for the rights of minors protection.
Public activists consider that the juvenile justice "leads to the destruction of the moral principles and the family institute, to decline in birth rate and to the increase of juvenile delinquency, as the youth is brought by the so-called ‘democratic values’.
The public organizations’ representatives put the arguments against the implementation of such laws in Pridnestrovie.
"This is problem really serious. Today some parents can't bring up their children properly because they often leave the country in search of the job. The project in scope won't allow to solve this problem, it is much more profound and it doesn’t touch on the point, " the manager of the Veteran Club Natalya Shekhanina noted. "I was working 33 years in the Public Education Department, and I know that the teachers and other educators do everything, i.e. these children wouldn’t want to roam the streets. In my view it is necessary to continue this work for developing the youth educational system according to our mentality, not to that of the western countries".
As a result the members of the Tiraspol Community Council decided that the current draft bill shouldn’t be passed, since a more detailed consideration, integrated approach, profound analyses and public opinion polls are required.
