Most Pridnestrovian enterprises experience adverse effects of Ukrainian crisis

Such is the conclusion of Pridnestrovie's Republican Bank (PRB) experts

The results of the summer monitoring which was participated by the heads of Pridnestrovie's 40 biggest enterprises have been published in the latest issue of the monthly Bulletin of Pridnestrovie's Republican Bank.

Nearly a quarter of directors observed that time for raw material supply from Ukraine had been extended, reports RIA Novosti. Another 17.5% of managers observed that supply contracts had been broken. The decrease in exports to Ukraine varies from 40 to 90 %, depending on the enterprise, i.e. in certain cases supplies to the Ukrainian market have almost ceased.

20% of the interviewed directors focused on merchandise payment delays on the part of Ukrainian partners in the first half from the end of last year. 35% mentioned problems with goods delivery through Ukraine's territory - some enterprises had to elaborate alternative routes, bypassing the neighbouring country's territory.

Now Ukraine is in the midst of grave political crisis which affects its economy and public sector. In fact, the country is on the verge of default. The government forecast Ukraine's GDP would decrease by 5% in 2014; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development by 7%, and the Fitch agency by 5% as well.
