Responding to journalists' questions following his meeting with Pridnestrovie's leadership, the Russian vice-premier Dmitriy Rogozin noted that even at very difficult time Russia will continue supporting its compatriots
"The tougher pressure on our compatriots will be, the tougher line of defence we will take," declared the high-ranking guest.
Speaking about the Moldova-Pridnestrovian settlement, Rogozin called upon Chisinau and Tiraspol for a sustained dialogue and expressed hope that Moldova's authorities would pursue "a more consistent and distinct policy towards Pridnestrovie."
"We will not let anyone supress Pridnestrovie and will always insist on a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Russia will be sticking to the policy it is pursuing now. This is the Russian president's policy. It should be noted that the Russian president is the most impressive, most consistent and strongest leader in the world. He knows about Pridnestrovie, worries and feels concern about it. I give him a detailed report on each visit here," said the Russian vice-premier.
He noted that Russia continues to provide assistance, including direct economic support, to Pridnestrovie, which has to resist Chisinau's blockade restrictions.
According to him, the very fact that social facilities are being built in the republic out of Russia's funds proves that "Russia believes in Pridnestrovie's future."
"If we are building a kindergarten here, we understand that life will be in this region," said the Russian guest.
