The press service of the Republican Bank of Pridnestrovie (RBP) reports that new composite coins with face values of 1, 3, 5 and 10 rubles are in circulation since 22 August. The new coins are legal tender in Pridnestrovie and used alongside with the other monetary units issued by the RPB for an unlimited time.
Among the basic properties of the new coins the following can be highlighted: various geometric patterns; special tactual properties; luminescence when exposed to infrared and ultraviolet rays; elements with selective infrared absorption, etc. These properties meet all the core requirements for money in cash.
Besides, the composite material the coins are made of is characterized by a higher degree of strength and durability, which will limit (or even exclude) the potential for counterfeiting.
