European delegation visits Tiraspol

It is the first time the delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe has visited the State Administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk

The main goal of the foreign guests' visit is to acknowledge the work of local authorities and the city's life as a whole, Mediacenter-Tiraspol reports.

The foreign colleagues were received by Natalya Shchukina, Deputy Head of the State Administration on Social Affairs, and Vyacheslav Popeskul, Chairman of the City's Public Council.

During the conversation the congress representatives asked questions on the municipal budget, capital's prospects as seen by Tiraspol's leadership, and citizens' employment.

"Suggestions were made that tourism should be developed in Tiraspol as our republic is of interest to foreigners. The guests asked questions about the economic development, investment into the city's economy and Pridnestrovie as a whole, international cooperation," said Natalya Shchukina.

Concluding the meeting, the state administration spokespersons thanked the European delegation for an interesting conversation and presented them with books on Tiraspol.

"We hope all the opinions expressed at the meeting will contribute to the development of local relations, including those with the Congress and European cities," Natalya Shchukina concluded.
