Another round of 5+2 Talks postponed until September 11-12

Since the previous meetings of chief negotiators, expert groups and the Permanent Conference were fruitless, the sides cannot meet in July

Today, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Radojko Bogojević has visited Tiraspol and held a meeting with Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister Nina Shtanski, as well as the co-chairs of the expert (working) groups.

“I want to thank Mr Bogojević for listening to the representatives of the expert groups elaborating the decisions the lack of which does not allow us to meet in July. It was very important for us to discover the prospects requiring additional impulses on the part of the negotiators and on the part of the Chairperson-in-Office. As the problems under discussion are common for Pridnestrovie and Moldova, the success will be common as well in case we achieve some results. I hope that the concerns expressed at today's meeting will be analyzed by Mr Bogojević and his team. I have no doubts all the experts will be given necessary assistance to push on," Nina Shtanski concluded the meeting at the Tiraspol OSCE office.

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Radojko Bogojević, in turn, called on the sides to hold more frequent meetings for solving pressing issues.

"We have considered holding a regular round of the 5+2 Talks and have come to conclusion that the session scheduled for July 17-18 should be postponed.  That's what I proposed yesterday to Mr Carpov and Ms Shtanski - since we cannot hold the July round of negotiations, we plan to hold it on September 11-12," explained Radojko  Bogojević.
