Kozhukharev Dmitry Zakharovich was born in Dubossary, in Bolshoi Fontan district.
After the liberation of Dubossary on April 12, 1944, he volunteered for the front.
During the war he graduated from the courses and was the commander of the 76-millimeter weapon. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star, Order of the Patriotic War, II degree, medals "For Courage" and "For Victory over Germany".
After returning home, he graduated from the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the Tiraspol Pedagogical Institute. He worked in public education for 53 years.
