Tiraspol, 16 August. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Sixty-four children have been invited to visit the Russian ambassador's summer camp this year. For seven days, boys and girls, aged 7- 14, will be having a rest at the Victoria health resort in the village of Mereneshty.  These are the children from low-income and large families, those who are brought up by single mothers or left without parental care.

According to the Attache of the Russian Embassy in the Republic of Moldova Yulia Ilyicheva, the very goal of the embassy is to help those children who do not have the opportunity to go to a resort.

"The Russian ambassador's summer camp has already been organised in Pridnestrovie for six years. It was first held on the initiative of Farit Mukhametshin, the former Russian ambassador to Moldova. The current ambassador, Oleg Vasnetsov, has decided to keep up this tradition. The camp is organised twice a year - in winter and in summer. We receive assistance from Russian communities that find children in need of recreation," said Ilyicheva.

It is the second time when Victoria hosts the camp. The organizers say that there are all conditions for children's rest: a green well-groomed area, football and volleyball facilities and even a swimming pool.  And of course, tasty food.

"We have five meals a day; this year we have completely updated the menu. Parents used to leave us feedback about how many kilos their children put on for two weeks - 1.5 or even 2 kg," noticed the director of the camp Maria Manoli.

Today is the official opening of the camp. To welcome the guests - employees of the Russian embassy and the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Moldova - kids had prepared dozens of concert tricks: songs, dances, humorous skits.

"Today we have performed a dance and a sketch, representing our group. We are having fun, playing football, volleyball, table tennis," said Danila Vorobyev.

"It is my first time in the Victoria camp; there are very good group leaders. They are always close to us; they engage us in various activities. They can both scold and praise. I really like it here," said Dana Goncharuk.

"Children like this place. There is a swimming pool, a large football pitch and a volleyball court; children are very closely worked with. Group leaders are very responsible. I would like to thank the Embassy of the Russian Federation for the opportunity to organize and hold a summer camp, for the opportunity to improve children's health, especially ahead of the coming school year. This is very important," noted head of the Union of Russian Communities of Pridnestrovie Viorika Kokhtaryova.

According to Andrei Kibirev, deputy head of the Russian Center for Science and Culture, young people are given special attention. Both the embassy and Rossotrudnichestvo implement dozens of programs aimed at revealing the talents of the younger generation, for their development and upbringing.  At the international level, these are such projects as "Hello, Russia", "New Generation". In Pridnestrovie, the camp of the Russian ambassador has become traditional.

Over 600 children have stayed at the winter and summer camps over the past five years. In previous years, the Dnestrovskie Zori health resort hosted the camp.
