Tiraspol, 3 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The word is a weapon of a political scientist. A powerful word can deter the recklessness of arrogant politicians who does not feel their responsibility to future generations. Responsibility means more than thoughtless and ambitious determination. This what the director of the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS), Mikhail Fradkov, said during the opening ceremony of the International School of Young Political Scientists dedicated to Integration Processes in the post-Soviet Countries: Problems and Prospects.
The forum is held by the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies under the Russian president. The conference is supported by the Interstate Foundation of Humanitarian Cooperation of CIS members, the RISS's press service reports.
A strategic objective of the RISS is forming a young generation of political scientists. School seminars are devoted to raising the responsibility of political judgements and evaluations.
«The ability of young men to perceive and feel the pulse of today is more acute. And the task of established experts is to bring the experience and expertise into the assessment of the situation. This fusion is born in the process of communication," said Mikhail Fradkov.
He underscored that this year's work with young people, organised by the RISS, is particularly relevant in the context of the World Festival of Youth, which is to be held this December and gather over 20,000 delegates from 150 countries.
The leading experts of the RISS together with school attendees will consider the key aspects of the regional integration of CIS countries at lectures and seminars which will continue until 8 April. Among them is the current state and prospects for the development of integration projects in post-Soviet countries, the potential influence of Western countries and China on the policies of CIS countries, the capacity of the Eurasian Economic Union's transport integration, the impact of Western sanctions on the pace and nature of economic cooperation among CIS states and other relevant topics.
The goals and objectives of the School, held since 2012, have already been highly assessed by CIS scientists. They see the RISS, first and foremost, as a venue for an exchange of views on the most pressing issues of our time. Every year young political scientists from the CIS come to Moscow to discuss current trends in international relations, share research developments and establish contacts in the expert scientific society.
The participants of the School which has opened today are young scholars from Astana, Baku, Bishkek, Dnepr, Dushanbe, Donetsk, Yerevan, Kishinev, Sevastopol, Tiraspol, as well as students from the leading Moscow universities who are currently undertaking an internship in the RISS.
