Tiraspol, February 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President of PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan.
Welcoming the guest, the head of state expressed gratitude for attention of the OSCE Mission to the republic, active participation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova and also in the solution of the problems arising between the sides, the Presidential Press Office reports. Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that the work on accumulation of information about the problems of Pridnestrvie's and Moldova's interest was conducted.
«As far as we know, you take the most active part in negotiation process and welcome 'bundle' approach to the solution of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian issues. There is an array of them of economic, humanitarian and cultural kind. We welcome your commitment and participation," Vadim Krasnoselsky noted.
He also turned Michael Scanlan's attention to the principles of the Pridnestrovian side: «Actions of politicians must be directed to the good of people. We are a peaceful state and we want to live in peace with our neighbors — Moldova and Ukraine. We should respect both Pridnestrovian, Moldavian, and Ukrainian people equally».
In turn, the head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova Michael Scanlan emphasized the importance of stable functioning of «The Constant Meeting …» within the 5+2 format as an international negotiation platform and also the role of direct contacts between the sides at the level of representatives on political affairs.
Speaking about the problems which prevent successful development of each side, Michael Scanlan noted that they had to be solved urgently.
«Progress in this issue can be made only through the direct dialogue and hard work," he emphasized.
The guest also informed the Pridnestrovie's President that each of 57 member countries of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe was ready to make every effort to promote settlement of old problems in the relations between Pridnestrovie and Moldova.
