Bendery, 26 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Another meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) ended with the signing of a protocol. The delegations gave their assessment of the situation in the Security Zone and discussed preparation for the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping operation.
«We can see that both Moldovan delegation and Russian delegation and representatives of Ukraine and the OSCE mission have shown understanding of the problem, and it was proposed to develop specific mechanisms that can be implemented by the next meeting of the JCC," Pridnestrovian co-chair to the JCC Oleg Belyakov told journalists.
The sides agreed to resume meetings of working groups on law enforcement activities in the area with a high-security mode.
«It is reassuring that this subject remains relevant for the JCC, and we'll continue seeking solutions to all these issues," underscored Belyakov.
The work of the JCC was unblocked this January on the results of the meeting of the political leaders of Moldova and Pridnestrovie. After long consultations, on 13 January the sides put an end to the issue of free movement in the Security Zone and proceeded to other subjects.
