President receives Czech ambassador

The risks and challenges the country is facing amid regional and economic turbulence were particularly discussed at the meeting

Tiraspol, 22 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk received a newly appointed ambassador of the Czech Republic, Zdeněk Krejč. The meeting took place at the initiative of the Czech side. Zdeněk Krejč assumed the position of ambassador in April 2016. It was his first visit to Pridnestrovie.

The president told the Czech ambassador about the current state of affairs in Pridnestrovie's economic and social spheres. He spoke, in particular, about the risks and challenges the country is facing amid regional and economic turbulence, the president's press service reports.

Special attention was given to the state of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. It was noted that unilateral restrictions imposed by the Moldovan side against Pridnestrovie adversely affect the country's socio-economic situation and the prosperity of its citizens.

The interlocutors agreed to develop cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Czech Republic in the cultural and humanitarian spheres.
