Tiraspol, April 26. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last weekend was marked with the third meeting of the defending volleyball champion of Moldova between female teams of the Moldova State University (MSU) and the Pridnestrovian State University within the final of the national championship. The match was held within the walls of the PSU. It's important to remind that the PSU-Pridnestrovie lost to the MSU in two previous matches.
Pridnestrovian volleyball players tried to dictate the play to the opponents from the very beginning of the meeting and so they did it in the first set. As the PSU Media Center reports, the host team managed to win the match — 25:22.
In the next match, the Moldova State University stepped up a gear. After heavy and productive attacks of the main forward, the visitors managed to win three next sets — 8:25; 10:25; 14:25 — thus winning the match and the championship.
In this season, the PSU-Pridnestrovie Volleyball Club became the silver medalist of the national championship and the third in the Cup that was the best result over club's history.
Also, two individual awards went to the team's collection. Elena Leontyeva became the best universal player of the Championship, Olga Baby became best blocker of the Championship.
It's important to note that last time volleyball finals among women in Tiraspol were played 45 years ago.
