Tiraspol, 4 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova and its partners' attempts to disrupt the peacekeeping operation in the Dniester region is an additional factor of instability, unpredictability and intentional unbalance of the situation, said Pridnestrovie's acting foreign minister, Vitaly Ignatyev.
He said that Moldovan representatives were purposefully undermining the functionality of the peacekeeping mission and its operating bodies and, first of all, the JCC.
«The approval of Russian delegates to the JCC is being blocked; there are provocations in the Security Zone, including joint exercises with Nato military contingents; inspections of the readiness of peacekeeping checkpoints for the autumn-winter period are being neglected. Moldovan representatives speak against the peacekeeping operation on high international platforms, demanding its modification into some other mission," said Vitaly Ignatyev.
The foreign minister noted that Pridnestrovie regarded all these activities as short-sighted and inadmissible.
«Only efficient activities by peacekeepers, the JCC, the Joint Military Command make it possible to keep the situation under control in the Security Zone. The peacekeeping operation in the Dniester region possesses unique legitimacy, public support, and its results speak for themselves," concluded Ignatyev.
