The students of the CIS countries, the Baltic states and Georgia took part in the competition

As the Education Ministry’s press center reports, the XIII head-to-head round of the open international academic competition among the students in Russian language took place during January 3-6 in Moscow. The pupils - the winners of the extramural rounds - and their teachers were invited to the ceremony. There were 24 participants from 14 countries in total.

The tests for two age groups were held in three stages and were devoted to the 70 anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and to the Great Russian poet Mikhail Lermontov birth 200 anniversary.

Pridnestrovie was represented at the academic competition by Anastasia Shendrik, the student of the Tiraspol Pushkin school №2 10th form (the teacher Valentina Karnaukhova) and Ekaterina Afanasyeva, the Bendery Gymnasium №1 9th form (the teacher Irina Ivanichenko).

Following the competition results Ekaterina Afanasyeva took the 1st prize in the younger age group (7-9 forms), and Anastasia Shendrik took the 2nd prize in the senior group (10-11 forms).

While pupils were carrying out the tasks, the teachers were given master classes and lectures on the topical issues of teaching Russian and literature at modern school.
