The unique operation has involved 21 world-class rescuers from the Tsentrospas team
The Russian emergencies ministry's interservice team, who were dismantling the dangerous aerial cable way and its aggregates within a month, have completed their work and arrived at the permanent base in Moscow. The information is available on the ministry's official website.
The unique operation has involved 21 world-class rescuers from the Tsentrospas team. The specialists were equipped with the necessary high-technology equipment.
The cable way section above the residential area was dismantled by exploding support structures and using the Russian emergencies ministry's Mi-26 heavy-lift helicopter. Such decision was taken because the consecutive dismantling of the cable way was not only technically difficult, but also created high risk conditions for the rescuers' lives.
The specialists of Russia's emergencies ministry have carried out the unique dismantling operation: about 300 tonnes of hardware have been disassembled, and over 60 trolleys have been removed. The operation was under supervision of Vladimir Puchkov, the head of Russia's emergencies ministry. The rescuers have dismantled the most dangerous sections of the cable road, thus eliminating the danger of the large-tonnage construction collapsing on the residential buildings.
It is to be recalled that, before leaving for Moscow, the Russian rescuers were awarded medals 'For Strengthening International Cooperation' by the Pridnestrovian leadership.
