The reconstruction initiated by the PMR President continues at Pridnestrovian State University. The main repair and construction facility of the university this year is building B. The area is a quarter larger than the main building renovated last year: 4400 and 3600 square meters, respectively. The planned cost is 12 million rubles. Approximately a half has been already used. 65% of work completed.
Vadim Krasnoselsky was accompanied during the inspection visit by the leadership of the capital's state administration, the university, construction organizations involved in the project. The rector of the Pridnestrovian State University Vladislav Sokolov said that the classroom fund was increased as a result of redevelopment – seven classrooms were added at the request of the staff. Multifunctional spaces were designed. One of the classrooms was equipped with a projector. A whole wing is allocated for diverse museum expositions. University museums previously dispersed in different buildings will be collected in one place for the convenience of visitors, in particular, schoolchildren and applicants. It was noted that there are requests for the creation of new expositions, for example, computer technology – such an initiative was made by representatives of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
The President asked about the time limits. The main construction work is planned to be completed by May, the facility is expected to be fully commissioned by the beginning of the next academic year. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about the design style. The decoration will be similar to that chosen for building A. The attention of the President was attracted by the flights of stairs opposite the main entrance and the still empty canvases of the walls between the floors. The participants of the offsite meeting discussed options for filling it. Perhaps one of the niches will be filled with a map of Pridnestrovie and the coat of arms of the PMR, the other will be decorated with the image of the founder of Tiraspol, Alexander Suvorov, and the city coat of arms.
The President asked about future plans. The facility B is next thing on the agenda.
