Tiraspol, December 13. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Central Election Commission of the PMR announced the results of the elections of the PMR President, which took place the day before.
The current head of state Vadim Krasnoselsky won 79.4% of the vote. The second presidential candidate Sergey Pynzar won 11.8% of the vote. 8.8% of ballots were invalidated.
According to the electoral legislation of Pridnestrovie, a registered candidate who received more than half of the popular votes, who took part in the voting is considered elected, the press service of the Central Election Commission of the PMR reports.
During the press conference, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission announced the final voter turnout. 143 054 Pridnestrovians took part in the voting. Of them:
• in Tiraspol - 42,068;
• in Bendery - 24 414;
• in Grigoriopol Region and the town of Grigoriopol - 12 071;
• in Dubossary Region and the town of Dubossary - 10 682;
• in Kamenka Region and the town of Kamenka - 8 814;
• in Rybnitsa Region and the town of Rybnitsa - 21 937;
• in Slobodzeya Region and the town of Slobodzeya – 23 068.
Voter turnout was 35.2%.
On election day, the elections were monitored by international observers from Russia, Poland, South Ossetia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia. Observers note: during the voting, no violations were found, the elections were held within the framework of the current legislation and by international electoral standards.
