The First President of the PMR Igor Smirnov celebrated his 80th anniversary last Saturday. Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the birthday person today. The hero of the day greeted the PMR President in a working atmosphere. Igor Smirnov continues his active social activities, heading the Consultative Assembly of the first Pridnestrovian deputies – an advisory authority under the PMR Supreme Council Chairman, created at one time on the initiative of Vadim Krasnoselsky.
The interlocutors spoke about the history of Pridnestrovie and the bonds that forever linked the fate of the state and the person who stood at the origins of the country and led it for many years. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted the contribution of Igor Smirnov to the formation of the young republic, as well as his post-presidential activities aimed at strengthening the Pridnestrovian statehood. They discussed the current state of affairs in the country and how the republic is developing and transforming despite all the difficulties that have to be overcome for more than three decades. Vadim Krasnoselsky wished the birthday person to become a witness of the next important event for the republic – international recognition of the independence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Igor Smirnov was awarded the Order of Friendship for his personal contribution to the formation and development of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, active social activity and in connection with his 80th birthday.
