Bendery, October, 8. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Eight orphans and children deprived of parental care received keys from their own homes facing the City Day in Bendery. Another warrant for the apartment was handed over on Republic Day, according to the Bendery TV-channel.
The First Deputy Head of the Bendery State Administration Ludmila Shelenkova said that despite the emergency and restrictive measures the work on providing housing for orphans had not stopped.
“All technical details have been settled. Today we have handed eight orders, basically tomorrow residents can conclude social rental agreements and register for their place of residence,” Ludmila Shelenkova said.
The state program for providing housing for orphans and children deprived of parental care has been operating in Pridnestrovie for the third year. During this time, 20 residents of Bendery obtained apartments.
“Last year the Bendery program was 100% fulfilled, this year it has been implemented by 89% all around the state. It will continue to work further,” the Deputy of the Supreme Soviet Ruslan Gareev stressed.
Sofia, a graduate of the Bendery orphanage, had been waiting for her home for five years. During this time, she managed to receive her education and become a manager.
“When the photos were sent to us by email, we looked at the design, colors. I don’t know how it will look like. I know it will be light-coloured, and after that there is time for the project. I think we'll figure out something interesting. It will be cozy, simple, family-like,” Sofia Padalka said.
This year there will be more new settlers in Bendery than planned. They managed to save about 300 thousand rubles, so two more apartments will be purchased by the end of the year. Orphans were also provided with three apartments at the expense of the vacated municipal fund.
