The Vice Speaker of the Supreme Council commented on the adopted statement on the energy crisis

Tiraspol, January 10. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/.  Today, during the second emergency session, parliamentarians adopted a special statement in connection with the emergency situation that has developed in the republic. It speaks of the need to take urgent measures to prevent a humanitarian catastrophe.

"Our statement formulates the position of the Supreme Council as the highest representative body of power. And, of course, this is a reaction to the difficult situation in which our voters, citizens of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, find themselves. We were obliged to demonstrate our reaction to the entire international community in this statement today, to appeal to them so that this situation could be changed," said Galina Antyufeeva, Chairperson of the Commission on Foreign Policy and International Relations, Vice Speaker of the Parliament.

Let us recall that due to the cessation of gas supplies, Pridnestrovie has faced an unprecedented energy crisis. The republic has completely stopped supplying heat and hot water to the population and organizations. The state is experiencing an electricity deficit, people are dying from fires and carbon monoxide poisoning while trying to warm up. The incidence of acute respiratory viral infections is growing. Many industrial enterprises have stopped working. Tens of thousands of jobs may be lost in the next month.
