The working year 2025 began like the calendar year on January 1 for many officials. The President held a meeting of the Operational Headquarters created for the period of the energy crisis. Vadim Krasnoselsky stated opening the meeting that concerns related to a possible disconnection of gas supply were confirmed. The reason is the special specificity of the financial relationship between Gazprom and Moldovagaz. The suspension of gas supplies is due to Moldova's failure to pay for previous periods. The PMR President emphasized at the same time that it is necessary not to focus on the cause-and-effect relationships of what is happening, but to solve emerging problems.
The first deputy chairman of the PMR Government Sergey Obolonik reported on the current state of affairs in the energy sector. Heat suppliers disconnected 131 schools, 147 kindergartens, 130 administrative buildings of state authorities and administration agencies from the heat supply system in a planned manner in the last days of last year. The gas supply from Ukraine was stopped on December 31 at 19:50. The reserve formed in advance will be enough to provide gas to facilities not subject to disconnection until January 20 in the south of the republic and until January 10 in the northern regions. There are 13 million cubic meters of gas in the pipeline at the moment. Tiraspoltransgaz employees are working to disconnect the gas supply. 74900 subscribers will be or have already been disconnected, 116000 will receive a limited amount of gas for now (mostly residents of multi-story buildings to be able to use gas stoves). Sergey Obolonik emphasized that the different approaches are not a social, but a technical solution, on which the further functioning of the gas supply system depends. It was noted that the Moldavian GRES switched to coal-fired power generation exactly at midnight on January 1. The transition was carried out normally. The Dnestrovsk station generates 105 megawatts of electricity at present, the Dubossary HPP - eight. Generation will increase as consumption grows. The indicator will undoubtedly increase when citizens start actively turning on heating devices. The maximum capacity of the stations is 157 megawatts of the Moldavian GRES and 24 Dubossary Hydroelectric Power Plant.
The participants of the operational headquarters discussed not only the current situation, but also issues for the future. Vadim Krasnoselsky said that the current problem, which will certainly be solved may recur in the future. It is necessary to strive for independence and self-sufficiency in this area as well. Considering that the Pridnestrovian enterprise Elektromash is capable of producing solid fuel boilers of various capacities, a state order will be issued for their manufacture. Equipment alternative to gas should be installed at all socially significant facilities, the President aimed.
Sergey Obolonik raised the problem faced by heating engineers among other things. Citizens are trying to drain water from the system themselves, which is unacceptable in the current circumstances. This should be done by specialists from Tirasteploenergo. Another issue is refueling vehicles with methane. The specialized organization refuels only the equipment specified in the compiled lists of vehicles serving public needs under the state of emergency.
Up-to-date data on the work of the republican call center was announced by Deputy Head of the Operational Headquarters Vitaly Neagu. He said that 345 out of 852 calls received on the hotline were related to the provision of firewood. In total, 17 employees are involved in seven call centers throughout the republic. They are connected to a single information system. The Minister of Internal Affairs reported that 39 kindergartens are operating under the new circumstances, designed to accommodate 2692 children. As for heating and temporary stay points: three dozen such places have been equipped throughout Pridnestrovie (ready to accommodate 1325 people) in general. Vadim Krasnoselsky asked about the occupancy of the subordinate Ministry of Internal Affairs and the temporarily repurposed Solnechny health resort. The institution houses 103 wards of social institutions of the republic and forty refugees from Ukraine with a capacity of 220 beds.
Other topics of the meeting: procurement and sale of firewood, transition of schools after the holidays to distance learning, provision of medical services not at the place of registration, alternative heat supply of social institutions and their functioning after the forced change of location of wards.
The next meeting of the Operational Headquarters will be held on January 6, unless there is another necessity.
