The PMR First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Andrei Barabash noted in the course of the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President that 4% of carriers of COVID-19 in Pridnestrovie are children. 72 children are sick with coronavirus. 33 of them are being treated in a specialized children's hospital on the basis of the mother and child center in Bendery. Young patients of the Bendery Children's Hospital, whose diagnosis is not related to coronavirus, are sent for treatment to the capital's Center for Mother and Child. Vadim Krasnoselsky instructed to intensify the work of the children's polyclinic in the city of Bendery, so that possible assistance is provided as much as possible locally.
While infected children and their parents (accompanying young patients or also sick with coronavirus) remain on treatment in other hospitals of the republic. For example, there are more than two dozen children in the Slobodzeya hospital – those who are completing the course of treatment, and therefore their transfer to another medical and preventive institution is inappropriate.
The chief sanitary doctor of the PMR Natalia Beril focused on the morbidity among schoolchildren, as well as employees of educational institutions. According to her, the coronavirus during the week was detected in 49 school workers (a week earlier - in 45) and in 227 students (the indicator increased by 12% in seven days). At the same time, Natalia Beril noted that such dynamics are not critical. There is a mechanism for point isolation of the classes in which the virus carrier is detected. There are no prerequisites for the general transfer of the educational system to distance learning, the chief director of the Sanitary Epidemiological Station noted. The classical form of education will operate in Pridnestrovie at least until the end of the current academic term.
Vadim Krasnoselsky during the Operational Headquarters discussion focused on the fact that children and staff of educational institutions are in difficult pandemic circumstances. The load on both is high. The PMR President considers that additional measures are needed to strengthen immunity. An important factor, according to the President, is timely and sufficient rest. Vadim Krasnoselsky recommended leaving the practice of six-day study in all institutions of the general education system. This is not only about not going to school, but also about the lack of distance learning. Saturday should be a full day off, the President said. The Ministry of Education will have to revise the schedule. The five-day week will operate as part of anti-coronavirus events.
