Tiraspol, November 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A month ago, the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage of the PMR launched a logo design competition for the Year of Youth for 2021. Its main aim is to create a modern, original, readily recognizable logo, that will be used in all information-advertising and presentation products in the context of the Year of Youth in the PMR.
In total, 184 works were sent to participate in the competition, but 20 of them were rejected, because they didn’t compare to the provisions. Thus, 164 logos passed the first elimination round. Natalia Apter, the head of the culture and art department of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage, described that most of the works, 53, were sent by Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk residents.
“Now the jury members are reviewing all the works. About 20 best logos will become finalists of the competition, they will be sent to the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky, and he will already choose the winner. In the jury there are representatives of the art field, the State Service for Culture, the Ministry of Education and other spheres. By the end of the month, they should complete the review all the works,” Natalya Apter said.
Pupils and teachers of schools, students of technical colleges and universities, students of art schools, as well as educates of institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense took part in the competition. In addition, employees of various civil services, free artists, professional designers and other Pridnestrovians presented their works. The age of the participants is completely different: from 10 to 65 years old. Especially active, according to Natalya Apter, were 17-year-old young people.
“More than 40 works were made by hand: these are sketches. About 15 logos are accompanied by presentations or brand books. Some of the works were created using digital technologies,” Natalia Apter shared.
Sofia Timofeeva presented her own vision of the logo for the Year of Youth. The girl graduated from art school in the spring. Sofia admits, that she enjoys drawing, that’s why decided to participate in the competition.
“On the logo you can see the youth of Pridnestrovie: conquerors of sports, scientific and creative heights. Young people defend their state, they are the future of the republic, therefore in the middle of the logo there is the outline of Pridnestrovie,” Sofia Timofeeva discribed.
Another participant, a tenth-grader Nazar Turchenko, painted his version of the logo in the colors of the national flag. In the center of the sketch, he placed a young man. The author said the following about the symbolism of the elements:
“In the center of the circle, which is a symbol of our planet, there is a young man, from whom the energy vectors of the youth of Pridnestrovie emanate (in the color of the national flag). What does this energy bring to the world? Pridnestrovian youth is a conductor of new ideas, creativity and dedication,” Nazar Turchenko shared the idea of the logo.
The best work will become the official logo of the Year of Youth in Pridnestrovie, and its author will receive a money prize of two thousand rubles.
We remind that on October 2, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky signed a decree in which 2021 is declared the Year of Youth in Pridnestrovie.
