The President was on a visit to Grigoriopol. Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the opening ceremony of the portrait sculpture of Catherine the Great, who played one of the key roles in the history of the city's creation. By her decree, the largest Armenian colony was formed near the Dniester in 1792. An important customs post was also located here. There is information that the plan for development of Grigoriopol was personally approved by Catherine II.
The delegation headed by Vadim Krasnoselsky laid flowers at the memorial stone in honor of the founding of Grigoriopol. The leadership and representatives of the PMR Government, the Supreme Council together with the President and local authorities take part in the celebrations.
A theatrical performance was held near the bust of the Russian empress, dedicated to the history of the city and, in particular, to Catherine's decisions, thanks to which the Pridnestrovian lands were once liberated and developed.
Opening the monument in a solemn atmosphere, the President lowered the first flowers to the pedestal, thus laying down a new tradition for the residents of Grigoriopol.
