Tiraspol, March 25. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In the face of the state of emergency applied in the republic, when many economic agents suspended their work, an important task for the state is to preserve jobs. State development programs played significant part in their creation over the past three years. Therefore, they should not cease to exist. This opinion was expressed by the PMR Prime Minister Alexander Martynov at a meeting of the working group on developing anti-crisis measures to support business and the public in the fight against coronavirus.
The Prime Minister recalled such programs as the Capital Investment Fund, the Entrepreneurship Support Fund, and compensations to enterprises of natural monopolies for inter-tariff differences. Based on the budget, they will be continued. “Many of our citizens returned to the republic. And if now they lose their jobs here and cannot find them outside, unemployment is possible,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Alexander Martynov drew attention to the fact that some countries had experience expanding development programs in difficult economic conditions.
Speaking about the employment issue during the emergency, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Social Protection to work out the issue of a possible increase in the number of suppliers of food and medicine to those who need it. While quarantine restrictions are in force, they may be those who are temporarily left without work. This activity will be paid.
Alexander Martynov also drew attention to the fact that, despite restrictive measures, employment centers of the republic should, albeit remotely, perform their direct functions of citizens` employment.
