Opening the meeting, the President emphasized the importance of the tourism industry for the economy of the republic, noting that, despite the potential, opportunities have not yet been realized. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the time of conversations is over, it is necessary to act, in two directions, to develop the tourist infrastructure, creating new facilities attractive to residents and visitors of the republic, and to fully inform about their availability.
These two aspects were discussed today during a working discussion initiated by Vadim Krasnoselsky. The President invited representatives of the presidential executive office, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic, Heads of Tiraspol and Bendery, as well as entrepreneurs interested in the development of the tourism sector. The interlocutors paid special attention to resources and tools with the help of which reliable information about the tourist attractiveness of Pridnestrovie and the comfort of staying in the republic will be distributed. By the beginning of February, work should be completed to create a website about Pridnestrovie as a tourist area. Its basis is an electronic version of the modern edition of the Golden Collection of the Best Places of Pridnestrovie. By this time, a compact router with the working name "tourist passport" will be developed. In addition to indicating the basic locations that can attract the attention of visitors to the republic, it will collect information about hotels and public catering places, as well as the location of branded stores of famous Pridnestrovian brands. Participants in this partnership project for the state and business will increase the number of potential customers and consumers, and the document holder will have the opportunity to use the services and purchase products at a discount. The site and the passport guide are developed in two languages - Russian and English. Like the two-volume Golden Collection of the Best Places of Pridnestrovie, they will be updated as new sights and tourist units appear. The President sees the use of modern technologies as important. Information about the objects and information about the routes to them should be available in electronic form. Another aspect that Vadim Krasnoselsky paid particular attention to is the emphasis on the name of the state. There can be no options except the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic and Transnistria. The latter option, as more concise, is more preferable from a tourist point of view. Significant, according to Vadim Krasnoselsky, is the following: the main message for tourists is that Transnistria is peace, security, the rule of law, the absence of corruption, a good environment and the opportunity to invest.
Another presidential request is to develop a draft law on tourism by March 1. The legal framework in this area has not yet been formed. We spoke during the meeting about training professional guides, certification of this type of activity, and launching a tourist insurance mechanism. In addition, we discussed some ideas and suggestions related to the creation of new tourist sites. They can be based on historical places and facts, as the basis of the project it is possible to use the natural resources of the Pridnestrovian region, there are ideas related to rural tourism. Entrepreneurs propose creating an initiative group, accumulating all the achievements and discussing them with an expanded composition with the involvement of potential domestic investors. Vadim Krasnoselsky supported the proposal, noting that he was ready to discuss practical initiatives.
