Tiraspol, May 17. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Junior Road Cycling Championship of Ukraine took place in Sumy. Young men and girls competed in two age groups: up to 15 years and up to 17 years. There were more than 170 athletes from 28 teams.
The team of Moldova in the senior age group was represented by two pupils of the Tiraspol sports school No. 3 Vladislav Shevchuk and Vladimir Beznosyuk and Laurentsiu Buyan from Balti.
In the program there were two group and one individual races. In 3 days cyclists overcame 168.5 km. In personal offset on the sum of three days Vladislav Shevchuk took the 6th place, Vladimir Beznosyuk – the 11th, Laurentsiu Buyan – the 18th place. They were trained by coaches Vyacheslav Shevchuk and Anatoly Yurdik.
In a team competition the national team of Moldova was the best. Temporary results of all members of the team were summarized. The winner was determined by the lowest sum.
The athletes from Khmelnytskyi are in the second place, Kiev residents are the third. The championship of Ukraine was selection to the European junior Olympic festival. The Pridnestrovian cyclists are among candidates for the Olympic team. The festival will take place at the end of July in Baku (Azerbaijan). The pridnestrovian swimmers and athletes Also plan to participate in the competitions.
