PRIDNESTROVIAN ROWERS OPENED NEW SPORTS SEASON

More than 100 athletes from Pridnestrovie and Moldova were put together in the Tiraspol Rowing and Canoeing Championship

Tiraspol, April, 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Competitions held at the Tiraspol rowing club, put together more than 110 participants. The rowers came from all over Pridnestrovie, as well as from Chisinau.

Winners and prize-winners were determined in 3 age groups: 19 years old and older, juniors up to 19 years old and boys under 17 years old. In addition, veterans took part in the regatta.

Traditionally there are two distances in the program - 500 and 2 000 m. Moreover, the participants of the final races at the 500-meter distance are determined by the results of the performance at the two-kilometer distance. Competitions go very fast, dynamically and are popular with both athletes and spectators.

Vyacheslav Sergeev from Tiraspol (a group of 19 years and older) and Andrei Bobko (youths) were able to win two distances. Among juniors, the highest awards were shared by Artem Volk from Rybnitsa (2 km) and Tiraspol resident Andrei Laskorunsky (500 m).

Andrei Gudov (Tiraspol - Bendery) did well in rowing among men. In the other age groups Chisinau athletes distinguished themselves.

Among juniors Christina Grinko from Chisinau confidently won kayak race. At the sprint distance in the younger age group Christina Kutafina from Tiraspol finished first with by a large margin.

The competition among veterans was in rowing. Alexey Shulga from Tiraspol won the struggle on a two-kilometer distance.

Note that the competition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Tiraspol Liberation from the Nazi invaders, took place in eight sports this weekend.
