Tiraspol, March, 21. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The President of the PMR, Vadim Krasnoselski, continues the inspection detour of the republic`s cities and regions in order to implement the capital investment program and arrange long-term plans for improving the infrastructure.
The press service of the President of the PMR specifies that today, the head of state communicated with the capital leadership. Oleg Dovgopol, head of the state administration of Tiraspol and Dnestrovsk, reminded that during the first year of the project of national importance and scale implementation, 26 socially significant objects were repaired in Tiraspol, capital construction works were carried out at three of them. In 2018 the emphasis was placed on educational institutions. In addition to the buildings and premises of schools, kindergartens, sports facilities, the bridge across the Dniester River was brought to the proper condition. In total, 15.5 million rubles were allocated from the Capital Investment Fund-2018.
Performing of works using the money of the Fund for capital investments at 9 objects is planned for 2019. We are talking about both the further implementation of the projects started last year and the launch of new ones. It is planned to build a boiler room in the Kremenchug school, to widely set up children's playgrounds, to complete the construction of a sports lyceum-boarding school on the basis of the Tiraspol school No. 4 and the specialized institution MS(K)OU No. 2.
Among the objects visited by the President today there is the future building of the Republican Sports and Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled. This state institution covers 1910 people, involving people whose health requires special attention and approach. On the basis of the center they develop 11 kinds of sports, including track and field athletics, swimming, handball, chess and checkers, mini-football, tourism and fishing. Not only sports, but also cultural events are held there.
In 2018 on the President`s instructions, the building was turned over to the center, which was listed as an asset under construction. In order to pump life into it, one needs about 8 million rubles. The first contribution - about one and a half million - was made last year. These funds were used for roofing, windows, stained-glass windows, doors, partitions.
The second stage was the allocation of another two million rubles for heat and electricity, water supply and sewage, as well as the implementation of interior decorating from the Capital Investment Fund. The Ministry of Social Security is requesting an additional 1.8 million rubles. In the event of its allocation, outdoor work will be carried out promptly and the territory will be landscaped, which will make it possible to accept disabled athletes in a new building adapted to their needs in 2020.
The center will equip not only sports halls, but also rooms for rehabilitation procedures. It will be possible to introduce new sports - bocce, basketball and wheelchair volleyball. In addition, the center's management expects to open a library for blind people and a recording studio.
The Director of the center Georgy Cheban said that the first floor will receive wheelchair users, the second one is intended for visually impaired and hearing impaired, noting that today people with special needs are forced to spend their leisure time in unsuitable premises, deprived of basic facilities, mainly basement type. The head of the institution said that, at the same time, Pridnestrovian athletes demonstrate the highest achievements. He told about the medals of the international championship which were brought from Minsk the other day.
“The construction of such a center in the republic was a long-cherished desire of people with disabilities. You gave your word, and our people believed you. Thank you for finding the opportunity and taking the construction under your purview. We hope that this complex will become our home, will be in demand, working for the benefit of people and the state. Its opening will give a big impulse and fill the hearts with joy. A lot of people will find themselves here,” Georgy Cheban said.
Vadim Krasnoselski emphasized the highest social significance of the restorative and rehabilitation center.
“Often people with disabilities do not have the opportunity to do sports, to grow, and we say that the best help is socialization. Today, many people, limited in their physical abilities, are crammed in basements and other premises where there are no heating and other conditions. We strive to provide them with good conditions for doing sports, to equip a computer class, a library, and rooms for cultural and humanitarian events. The task of this center is to unite people who need help, so that they find themselves in various fields - in sports, games, individual studies in the humanities; someone will take a step forward in the field of IT-technologies”, the President of the PMR stressed.
Vadim Krasnoselski added that people with disabilities are very talented.
“And this talent should be demonstrated and developed, people should be given the opportunity to believe in themselves, to socialize themselves as much as possible,” the head of state said.
The PMR President tasked to find an opportunity for the requested increase in funding so that in 2020 the center could have a house-warming. The President asked about the availability of equipment. According to Georgy Cheban, at the moment they can talk about 50% availability. The Director said that that was enough to launch the facility.
