Tiraspol, January, 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. According to the performance results at official international competitions, Pridnestrovians Galina Rydedyuk and Anatoliy Fomichev were recognized as the best orienteering sportsmen of 2018.
In particular, Galina Rybedyuk has the highest international rating. She became a World Cup finalist and winner of the Southeast European Championship. In 2018, the athlete also took part in 4 stages of the World Cup, and for the first time in the history of Moldavian orienteering she got in the top hundred best sportsmen of the world.
Last year Anatoly Fomichev moved from the youth group to the elite and for the first time in the history of Moldavian orienteering he took the second place in the Championship of South-Eastern Europe for a middle-distance in the men's elite. In addition, he became a prizewinner in the world ranking start in Romania, and was the clear winner for the middle distance in the Ukrainian championship.
Bendery resident Galina Rybedyuk and Anatoly Fomichev from Kitskan are students of the Tiras-Orient Tiraspol Club.
Among young people, Valeria Nadrag from Chisinau and Maksim Vyrtsan from Kopanka were recognized as the best. These athletes also train at the Tiras-Orient Tiraspol Club. Valeria Nadrag is trained by Andrey Severukhin, and Maxim Vyrtsan - by Igor Nagibin.
In the top ten there are three more Pridnestrovians. These are Ivan and Vasily Fomichev and Julia Nagibina. Among young athletes, Bendery resident Yaroslav Davydov performed at national and international competitions most effectively.
This year, the South-Eastern Europe Championship will be hosted by Moldova for the first time. Competitions are scheduled for the end of August.
