Tiraspol, 8 August. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky received citizens on personal matters. Among the citizens who came to the meeting were mostly mothers, wives and widows of the defenders of Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselskyhad talked to them on 1 August during the events timed to the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the president's press service reports.
It had not been convenient to talk and discuss publicly the existing problems, and the president suggested having a personal meeting. Today, the interlocutors felt more comfortable and told him about the events that had occurred 25 years ago and about how their life had developed after the events of the early 90's.
There were also requests. The widow of the combatant Natalia Chernyavaya came to ask the president for material assistance: cancer treatment is leaving nearly no means of support, the woman said. The difficult financial situation does not allow her to finish the repair of the flat which began 10 years ago: the living conditions in which the widow lives leave much to be desired. Vadim Krasnoselsky assured her that the assistance would be provided.
The topic which is raised this way or another at virtually every reception is pension provision. Today was not an exception. The interlocutors talked about the specifics of pension calculation for different categories of people, as well as allowances for various awards.
Delving into each specific situation, Vadim Krasnoselsky gave them explanations and recommendations, noting at the same time that such meetings make it possible to expose legal gaps, to find imperfections in legislation, shortcomings or obvious violations committed by officials.
"Often, literally in the course of the conversation, a solution to a particular problem occurs; ideas are generated which later result in the adoption of measures which are not local or individual, but rather working out a common solution applicable to everyone who finds himself in a similar situation," Vadim Krasnoselsky told Lyubov Eremenko, referring to the difficulties of obtaining Russian citizenship.
A list of the mothers, wives and widows of the PMR defenders who wish to have Russian citizenship along with Pridnestrovian one will be formed in the near future, according to the president. The corresponding applications will be submitted to Russia's consulate. Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that at the first meeting he would request Russian ambassador Oleg Vasnetsov to consider these applications as a matter of priority.
Tiraspol resident Anna Gaidarzhi addressed an unexpected request to the president. Today she accompanied Tamara Berendelina, 84, a teacher and historian with an almost 60-year record of service, who has numerous awards for labour and public activities. The women noted that they never missed any national or municipal celebrations but it was very difficult to find a place on guest stands. They asked the president if it was possible to issue Tamara Berendelina a multi-visit pass. The president said he would easily and gladly comply with this request and would look forward to meeting soon the honourable guests.
