Tiraspol, 21 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Vadim Krasnoselsky held a meeting with the Gazprom management. They discussed a strategy for further cooperation.
According to Valery Golubev, a deputy chairman of Gazprom's board, one of the main tasks on the agenda is Moldova implementing the provisions of the EU's Third Energy Package. The document provides that the delivery of gas to the country's market and its subsequent supply to the end consumer should be carried out by different companies. In this connection, a plan for the reorganization of the company Moldovagaz, the share of which belongs to PJSC Gazprom, should be developed.
New requirements may affect the interests of Pridnestrovie so the parties agreed to synchronise their steps in this area.
"This is the European standard, the requirements of the Moldovan legislation, and I think we should comply with them. The deadline for these measures to be completed is 1 January 2020," said Valery Golubev.
Speaking with journalists, Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed that all the internal issues relating to cooperation with Gazprom - economic, legal, technical direction - would be resolved by Pridnestrovie in a timely manner.
"Discussion of this issue has not started today. Work in this direction has been underway for six months. Algorithms and roadmaps are being developed at the moment. A working group will be created, which will include representatives of Tiraspoltransgaz-Pridnestrovie, Moldovagaz and PJSC Gazprom. A model acceptable to both Pridnestrovie and the Russian Federation will be jointly developed," said the president.
Another important topic of the meeting was the issue of gas supplies to Pridnestrovie. Today, the blue fuel is delivered to the PMR via through Ukraine, but the transit contract expires at the end of 2019. The parties discussed which step to take to prepare for this occasion.
"No one wants another gas war with Ukraine. Neither Ukraine nor Russia nor Europe... I think that we will solve this issue in a timely manner. We will solve it exactly in such a way that the contracts will be concluded much earlier than the existing one will expire," the Gazprom official said.
"This is a serious task, concerning not only Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Pridnestrovie but also our European partners. Therefore, we'll have a big and interesting work to do," added Valery Golubev.
